A subsidiary of Crimson Education, MedView is Australasia’s leading and largest medical school admissions support, delivering UCAT tutoring and mentoring for students aiming for medical school in Australia, New Zealand and the UK. Designed to help students focus on every area - strategy, academic tutoring, exam preparation, application support, extracurricular activities and interview training.
This is a full-time, remote position based in China.
What are the main responsibilities for this role?
Student Strategy Consultants are exemplars of MedView Education’s philosophy who are dedicated to making a difference in students’ lives, helping bridge gaps between present and future goals by personalising blueprints that will become the basis of all academic, extracurricular and personal development.
Your task as a Student Strategy Consultant is to work closely with students and their other MedView tutors, mentors and consultants. Primary client-facing responsibilities include the following: driving progress through long-term roadmaps, offering a perspective into Australian higher education, and mentoring through the application processes.
With each case that one oversees in this role, a Strategy Consultant is entrusted with the highest level of autonomy and accountability. Strategy Consultants are thus held to the highest standards of integrity; maintain utmost responsibility in managing students’ goals and plans; and contribute to the professional development of the self and of the team.
What success looks like
Client Service
Provide overarching admissions strategies to students by creating individualized roadmaps and constantly evaluating progress to achieve a student’s primary goals
Collaborate with the rest of the students’ MedView team (Account Managers, Academic Tutors, Application Consultants, ECL Mentors) to execute on the student’s roadmap
Maintain expert knowledge of high school curricula, extracurricular and leadership choices and standardized test planning to make recommendations regarding admissions strategies
Utilize in-depth knowledge of institutions of higher learning to guide students and parents towards attainable school goals, working with them to create lists of best fit schools of varied competition to maximize acceptance chances
Conduct formal consulting sessions with students on a regular basis, chronicling and sharing with relevant stakeholders notes and action items via the Crimson App platform
Maintain reasonable levels of communication with students and families outside of formal sessions through various channels (e.g., We Chat Crimson App Messenger, email, etc.)
Sales and Marketing
Facilitate or lead development and presentation of marketing materials for seminars or expositions in local markets
Collaborate with local Sales teams in Initial Consultations to facilitate potential client investment and understanding in Crimson’s products and services
How you’ll know you’re crushing it
Supporting a high number of students through the application process + Meeting with students at regular intervals as noted in standard operating procedures
Superior communication skills - responding to parents and families with half-day during working days
High Student Satisfaction scores
What skills and experience you’ll need
Bachelor’s degree from a top university/college preferred; advanced degrees will be advantageous
At least 1 year of full-time experience or equivalent, with proven track record of success supporting students into top universities
Passion for coaching young adults and appreciation of global perspectives + Superior planning and organizational skills; experience in project management, event coordination, product management a plus
Superior written and oral communication skills
Resilience when working independently under pressure
Coordinate, engage and facilitate the student’s journey with MedView to help them achieve their goals (this crux of the service will be provided by Crimson’s world-class Strategists, Tutors and Mentors who contribute to a personalized student roadmap)
You will be the main point of contact for students and parents, and be the link between them and the wider MedView team
Advise the team on possible value add solutions to support the student
Provide the global team insights into local cultural nuances and demands
Keep up to date on student’s progress, and report back to the team regularly
Proactively manage and foresee issues by resolving complaints or escalations in a timely manner
