Curriculum Developer for Advance Content (USDP Grades 8-12)

Our team is looking to bring on passionate educators to support our growing student base through part-time teaching / curriculum developing roles. This position offers the opportunity to teach bright, motivated students from around the world while maintaining flexibility in your schedule. You'll play a key role in delivering high-quality, personalized learning experiences as we continue to expand our reach globally.
The Role
This is a Part-time Curriculum Developer position (contractor) responsible for creating technology-enhanced learning materials for advanced secondary courses (grades 8-12) in our US Diploma program. Courses may include Calculus, Physics, English, and Computer Science. This is a stipend-based role.
What You'll Be Doing
Familiarize yourself with our pre-created marketing assets and color schemes
Develop advanced course Canvas templates with consistent branding and improved usability
Create standardized template elements for course home pages, assignment layouts, and gradebook settings appropriate for rigorous advanced coursework
Ensure all courses have a consistent look and feel while being engaging and intellectually challenging
- Design and develop modular, tech-forward curriculum materials for advanced courses including:
Advanced Mathematics up to Calculus
Physics
Computer Science
English
Create engaging lesson plans, instructional content, assessments, and student learning materials that challenge advanced learners in grades 8-12
Transform existing curriculum into interactive Canvas modules
Ensure alignment with US educational standards and our academic vision
Incorporate higher-order thinking skills, problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical reasoning
Integrate AI tools and digital technologies to enhance curriculum delivery and student engagement in advanced subjects
Implement educational technology tools within the curriculum (coding platforms, simulation tools, collaborative writing tools, etc.)
Research and implement interactive content creation tools appropriate for advanced learners
Test and implement latest learning practices and pedagogical approaches
Train teachers on how to effectively use interactive elements
Work closely with subject matter expert teachers, Heads of Department, and our Curriculum Alignment Dean to understand advanced content requirements and ensure alignment across programs
Establish and maintain regular meeting schedules with academic teams
Respond promptly to feedback and incorporate changes throughout the development process
Support diverse learning styles and promote student-centered learning at the advanced level
Communicate proactively about progress and any potential roadblock

Phase 1: Orientation & Canvas Template Development
Review marketing assets and branding guidelines
Audit existing Canvas templates and advanced course requirements
Develop standardized templates and test tool integration
Present designs for approval by established deadline
Phase 2: Content Planning & Collaboration
Meet with department heads, Curriculum Alignment Dean, and review existing advanced curriculum
Develop content frameworks for each course
Identify opportunities for interactive elements, simulations, and advanced problem-solving activities
Create sample units for feedback by scheduled milestone
Phase 3: Content Development
Develop content for assigned advanced course(s)
Incorporate feedback from teachers and Curriculum Alignment Dean
Implement interactive elements and ensure consistent layout
Test functionality across different devices and platforms
Meet all phase deadlines as outlined in project timeline
Phase 4: Review and Finalization
Complete quality assurance testing
Make final adjustments based on feedback
Prepare orientation materials for teachers
Finalize all content by final deadline
What You'll Bring
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Education, Instructional Design, Mathematics, Science, Computer Science, English, or related field; Master's degree preferred
Experience in curriculum development for advanced-level secondary courses (grades 8-12)
Strong subject matter knowledge in one or more of: Calculus, Physics, Computer Science, or English
Proficiency with Canvas LMS or similar online learning platforms
Experience integrating technology into advanced educational content
Understanding of US curriculum standards and advanced pedagogy
Proven track record of meeting project deadlines and managing time effectively
Skills & Attributes
Content creation and instructional design abilities for advanced learners
Proficiency with educational technology tools (coding platforms, graphing tools, simulation software, etc.)
Strong project management skills with demonstrated ability to meet strict deadlines
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
Problem-solving approach
Adaptability and willingness to incorporate feedback
Ability to create intellectually rigorous content
Self-motivated and accountable for deliverables
Responsive to communications from academic team members
Success Criteria
All courses follow consistent branding using established marketing assets
Canvas pages are engaging, interactive, and appropriately challenging for advanced learners
Multiple tech tools are integrated into the curriculum
All project milestones and final deadlines are met without exception
Effective collaboration with teachers, Heads of Department, and Curriculum Alignment Dean throughout the development process
Teachers are prepared to utilize the new curriculum
Content meets or exceeds standards for advanced secondary coursework
