Senior Admissions Counselor

Admissions Counselors (or in Crimson-speak, Strategy Consultants) are exemplars of Crimson Education’s philosophy dedicated to making a difference in students’ lives, helping bridge gaps between present and future goals by personalising blueprints that will become the basis of all academic, extracurricular and personal development.
You will partner closely with the student and lead the Crimson team (tutors, mentors, consultants) to drive progress through long-term roadmaps and mentoring to build their candidacy through the application processes. You can read even more about the role here.
This is a full-time position that can be remote or in one of our many offices around the globe, with a caseload between 40 and 50 students. If you have experience with APAC, be sure to include it in your application!
What success looks like:
- Ensuring consistently high service quality
- Having a comprehensive knowledge of the US admissions system, and be actively seeking to continually further develop your expertise
- Consistently rated high pass or honours performer from Strategy KPIs
- Maintaining strong track record in student outcomes
- Having and developing unique selling points in your profile, for example track record, expertise, and consulting and admissions experience.
- Resourceful and resilient in overcoming challenges
- Solution-oriented, identifying problems and proposing solutions
- Self-motivated and able to learn and progress independently
What skills and experience you need:
- Graduated from a top 30 U.S. university
- A passion for coaching young adults and an appreciation of intercultural exchange
- Resilience when working independently under pressure
- An understanding of the intricate needs of a VIP/high-profile student and family
- 3+ years experience in education, coaching, tutoring and admission consulting, and at least 2 years of admissions or essay consulting experience for the undergraduate level (consulting experience with populations from Singapore or China preferred but not required)
- Deep industry knowledge of admissions consulting and the US university landscape
- Track record of top 30 admission results for students consistently each app cycle preferred
- Availability to work with students in the APAC (and USCA) regions and flexibility to work weekend hours once a month
- Planning and organizational skills
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish or Portuguese is a plus
